Learning for life

Modern day employers demand a well educated work force. The high standard of  education in Stenungsund prepares pupils to meet this demand.

Our modern upper secondary school, Nösnäsgymnasiet, offers many national curriculum programmes and specially compiled programmes of both academic and work training character. Within the work training programmes there is a large degree of cooperating with, among others, the petrochemical industry.

Molekylverkstan is a Science Centre, which increases the interest in scientific subjects; it is located in the cultural centre, Fregatten, and is run by the petrochemical industry.

There are eleven primary and secondary schools throughout the region, one of which is a special school.

The new Culture School opens opportunities for children and youth so oriented to partake in and experience culture in a new and exciting way.

Adult education in Stenungsund focuses totally on the needs of the individual and offers the opportunity both to complement school qualifications and to take vocational courses. University correspondence courses are also available.

Our nursery services are well established and are available both centrally and in outlaying districts.  Pre-school services are provided by municipality pre-schools, private pre-schools or family nurseries.
